I am delighted to annouce that I am part of the panel for the Carers Trust ‘Care Act for Carers: One Year On Commission’. Find out more about the Commission here.

Chairing the panel is Rt Hon Professor Paul Burstow FRSA. You can read the biographies of my fellow panelists and advisors here.

As a former carer to my father, I am particularly keen that current carers engage with the Commission. There is a survey publically available to facilitate this, and it can be found here. The Commission is also keen to hear from local and national organisations who provide support for unpaid carers, local authority and NHS carers leads and commissioners and health and care professionals who support carers.

The Commission is due to hear oral evidence in April, as well as written submissions, and will report on its findings in July 2016.
